  • Attention is always given to the project’s environmental impact.
  • Springfield installs a highly reflective roof membrane with 95% reflectivity.
  • We promote and install green roof systems which reduce the urban heat island, improve storm drainage, and are aesthetically pleasant.
  • In most circumstances, the Springfield Roof can be installed over the existing roof, saving customer money and eliminating landfill use.
  • All Springfield products are Energy Star approved.
Energy studies are completed during the bidding process and recommendations are made regarding adding insulation.  Often adding additional insulation during the re-roofing process and then installing the highly reflective Springfield Roof can show a payback of the entire roof investment in energy savings within the warranty period.

Think Green
Traverse City’s first green roof was donated by Springfield and installed at the Parson’s Business Center in Traverse City.

Textron Power Transmissions will also receive a complimentary green roof section from Springfield that will be installed in Spring 2007.
Springfield’s owner, Terry Umlor lives “off the grid” utilizing solar and wind power to meet the energy needs at his personal residence.  He is also a student of Northwestern Michigan College’s Alternative Energy Program.
